Warren Brown

Out of the national eagle

he walked 500 miles

to the cottage "notebook"

36-500 duplex lane

Inside his lover slept

between 80 sheets

"Aye," she said, "Aye,"

ease me beneath this paper cloth

Say to me 500 words of love

frequently my enchantment is broken

and I am misspelled

This business, though, is my office

and I love willingly, if blandly

all acts a copy, though right

The malaise is national

all our hearts a blank book,

our company incorporating nothingness

Even in Holyoke, Massachusetts

1,040 have died of misunderstanding since 1956

Oh, the mistakes made in the U.S.A.
